My trip this past weekend (2/16-2/18) was extra special. The first reason being because Nick came to visit, and the second being that I have always wanted to go to Amsterdam and now I was able to share the experience with one of my best friends. Amsterdam really lives up its name and all of the hype that surrounds it. The city is a combination of so many things making it the perfect place for any personality. Between the museums and exhibitions, and the coffee shops and red light district, a person can literally see ANYTHING (seriously… anything) their heart desires. Nick and I, along with 13 of our friends rented a sail boat to stay on this weekend which was quite an experience. All I have to say is that it is not for those who get sea sick. Our weekend was full of activities that started the second we landed. We went to all of the tourist attractions in city like the I (Am)stardom letters, the Van Gogh Museum, the Heineken factory, the ADAM Lookout, an Ice Bar and a canal boat tour. The Heineken factory was really interesting because I never though of all that goes into the process of making beer. The factory shows you all of the tools and steps that go into making a beer and then takes you on a virtual tour of the entire process. This place is any dads paradise, my dad included. I also really loved the ADAM Lookout which is the swing that hangs off of a skyscraper and overlooks the city. It was beautiful to take in the entirety of my surroundings. I couldn’t imagine doing anything differently or with anyone else because my time in Amsterdam was so amazing. Amsterdam is now on the top of my list!
