Under the Tuscan Sun, Firenze

This week my program blessed me with a 5-day weekend! I spent Friday through Sunday in Switzerland and then took a short ride south of Milan to spend Monday and Tuesday in Florence. I was blown away by how different Florence was from the city I have been living in for the past two weeks. It is exactly what you would imagine when you think of rustic Italy. The city is quaint and the streets are packed with tourists and visitors looking to see the Duomo, leather market and lots of shopping! You can get anywhere in Florence in less than a 20 minute walk which was seriously convenient coming from a girl who has to take the subway to class everyday. I was able to see all of the main features of Florence in only a few hours, which was perfect for my short stay. I was most impressed by the Piazzale Michelangelo. It gives a panoramic view of the entire city, showcasing its charming layout. I enjoyed every second of my stay in Firenze but am happy to be back in the city I love for the next few days until my next big adventure!
